Meeting with Managing Director Over Coffee- What to expect?

Hi all, I've recently joined WSO and already have come up with some questions hoping to get some advice on...
I'm meeting with a Managing Director of a BB bank on Monday over coffee. I'm recently graduated with a BA in Finance and networked my way into this one. I'm unsure of what to expect when meeting with this person. How much technical knowledge vs just getting to know one another is this, has anyone had this type of experience? I am looking for a finance job out of college, not exactly sure which sector S&T or IBD I'm really drawn to. This guys in S&T, obviously I should fine-tune my knowledge regarding the company and S&T positions to show passion why I want a job...

Any other recommendations? I would appreciate any and all info.

General rule of thumb is to expect anything, but more often that not 'coffee chats' are just (well) chats. It's more about connecting with the person and being able to articulate your goals/aims and reasons why you want to work in the field.

In terms of more specific advice:

1) Ideally you'd know your technical stuff, current markets (commercial awareness) as well as have really solid reasons why you want to work for X bank and be in Y role (since you don't really know whether you'd want to do IBD or S&T I'd say just show your passion for S&T specifically given that he's an S&T person)

2) Without a doubt the most important thing is showing why you want to work there and within S&T, then you should know what's happening in the markets currently and technical knowledge is probably the least of your worries at this stage.

3) Remember that it's a conversation, so don't make it a quick fire Q&A session - let the conversation take its natural flow, but do have insightful questions (i.e. not something you could find on Google in a second) to break the ice if the chat is quite stagnant.
