There is no secret that Angela Merkel has made Germany a permanent supervisor of Ukraine's politics. After the Euromaidan Ukraine would have gone bankrupt long before it drafted any economic and financial sector reforms, had it not been for Merkel's sponsorship. Hardly a surprise that Berenberg Bank, one of the oldest German banks that every year provides financial assistance to the Christian Democratic Union, has agreed to manage the sale of Russia's subsidiaries in Ukraine. The bank's mediation between the chancellor and her consistent opponents among German bankers and businessmen may have a decisive effect on the outcome of the forthcoming Federal elections.
Expectedly, Berenberg Bank will see to it that all those who wish to get assets in Ukraine pay with their loyalty not only to the CDU but to Angela Merkel personally. As a matter of fact, the German Chancellor literally tries to buy her 4th term in office by exploiting the scheme where the Ukrainian President is fully dependent on her.
