Miami Football = Fucked
http://sports.yahoo.com/investigations/news?slug=…
If the reports are true (and it sounds like they are), this might be the biggest NCAA FB scandal ever. The NCAA usually puts some big-time sanctions on programs (Ohio State, USC) that have a few players commit violations. 72 players are named in this. Miami's probably finished as a major D1 program from the looks of it. Any other opinions?
I don't think so, but wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if that was the outcome.
How many pro bowlers are on that list? Oooooh lawdy.
I don't think they'll get the death penalty.
Are you fucking kidding me, they will get a slap on the wrist compareatively. The former UofM AD is now the head of the NCAA board that oversees sanctions and penalties. The same guy who got a 50k check from the booster. The only thing this is really going to do is prob be the crack that collapsed the dam that is the NCAA.
They'll get a slap on the wrist, no death penalty. NCAA is bankrupt of any integrity.
Everybody's doing that shit. You think it was only OSU and USC?
Hell, i know at my school athletes drive unusually nice cars and ride $10k scooters to class
No kidding, the other schools are just better at not getting caught
I really hope the NCAA's balls drop and Miami gets fucked. Fuck the U, bunch of tools
LOL...Shapiro accomplished all by himself what it took an entire booster club to accomplish at SMU.
Not sure if they'll get the death penalty, though...
Nice. NCAA has lost intstitutional control over itself. This is just hysterical.
If Miami doesn't get a punishment at least equivalant or exceeding SMU Death Penalty, there will be an angry mob of USC and OSU fans with pitch forks and torches marching straight to NCAA headquarters.
Miami and ex-Miami players will be subject to "clawbacks" when Shapiro's case goes through the bankruptcy process.
I will bet anyone that wants to take it that they will not get the death penalty.
This is the most scandalous shit that's ever happened in college football (at least the most scandalous thing that's been caught). I don't see how the NCAA wouldn't. And if they don't, they will loose every shred of credibility.
When you have former UofM AD's working in the punishmet office I have a feeling they will get off easy considering the allegations.
You don't think Paul Dee will resign or get fired in the near future? Do you think anybody is going to take the NCAA seriously if he is still running the NCAA's infractions committee?
This is probably one of the worst scandals to happen in college sports history. This is historic.
And these allegations are just coming to light. As the investigation continues, it will probably get worse for Miami.
So it looks like every sports journalist doesn't think Miami will get the death penalty. I guess I am the only one who finds that unnacceptable
If Miami doesn't get the death penalty, then what is the point of the NCAA? A good slap on the wrist for schools that get media attention and the death penalty for those that don't have national markets? The NCAA's rulings are so shoddy at best. They'll go after schools like LSU, USC and Oregon but they won't dare touch schools like Texas, Alabama and Auburn.
Fair justice my ass.
NCAA = Any government regulatory committee
