Mid-tier BB vs. MM PE Analyst Program

SA at a mid-tier BB thinking about recruiting for the PE analyst programs. I understand that getting into one of the MF/UMM PE programs (>$4B fund size) would probably be a level up from my current situation. I'm wondering if I should also target MM PE analyst program for FT

I plan on exiting to PE after IB anyways, so thinking it would be beneficial to get a 2 year head start. With that said, I don't want to end up at a smaller fund if I would have greater opportunities going through on-cycle at a BB

I would like to keep the doors open for MF/UMM PE, but I understand that it will be difficult especially with my semi-target background. Honestly, just looking for optionality to move between funds for Associate program if I want to (don't want to be stuck or have to move down).

Question: Any guess on where I should draw the line on which PE offers would be better than my current mid-tier BB (decent group)? Maybe fund size would be a good indicator.
