MLB Host - Super Short Skirt and 4 inch Spiked Heels

Today, I was exercising and watching MLB at the same time.  MLB tends to hire very attractive women as hosts for the AM slot when the show is focused mostly on a review of games from the prior day.  This lady today was all in black with a skirt that was as short as I have ever seen.  Also, the spiked heels she wore were ridiculously high.  As a member of the male species, I have to say she looked fantastic.  I kind of feel like it was a little over the top, though.    Obviously, they know the audience, which is probably like 99% males.  I wonder if she picked out the outfit or MLB suggested it for her?

Anyone else see her on the show this morning?

They're desperate to bring up viewership and are now resorting to some drop-in sex appeal. If you've watched the ratings, almost all professional sports are getting hammered once they start trying to introduce BLM chants and other political crap into the events. People just want to watch sports and not think about all the craziness going on right now, but activists and advertisers had to go and make many people's one major escape from the real world into yet another virtue signaling mechanism. The fact they think some moderately scantily clad woman is going to do the trick is just another shining example of how out of touch the program organizers are. I know people who have had season tickets to their local MLB and NBA teams for years who have now ditched them entirely because of what's been going on (also probably because season tickets are kind of worthless due to Covid, but they cited the political stuff invading the game when I asked).

Idk, I really did not anticipate this topic becoming political.  Tbh, I do not really care who chants what.  I am just glad sports are back and with some fans.

It didn't become political. The reasoning for the skimpy dressed woman you're commenting on is that it's an attempt by the network to bring eyes back to a program that has dwindling viewership because they've injected politics into the games. It's a basic cause (politics being injected into game) and effect (dwindling viewership resulting in subsequent attempts to bring it back up) relationship.

I mean... I feel like this is a little reductive.  Politics have been in sports for decades.  The massive sponsorship of the military at pretty much every sporting event, for one (I see flyovers at a decent percentage of the games I go in outdoor stadiums).  People chant "USA" all the freakin' time.  Why should caring about black lives be any more or less political?

Also, don’t you think the contempt that MLB showed for half the state of Georgia over a truly nuanced voting law would turn off a lot of viewer.

Most fans want sports and not MSNBC with some throwing and catching.

If you live in Georgia, you might care about it but I do not think people where I live are going to care all that much. No one around here is saying I am less interested in baseball due to the actions taken by the MLB, at least no one I know.  We just want to watch baseball.  The all star game is more of a kids event, anyway

Maybe because this is you and all your friends? Just a thought.

You are right that all of my friends think like I do.   I do not think it is so unusual to have friends with common interests.  I participate on sports forums and I am sure not all of these people are liberals.  You can tell, there are a few people who are conservative and want to let you know.  Most of these people are focused on the game and not any politics.  One of the sports sites that I use has a no politics rule, which is a good thing.

Glad to see it's obvious to others what these two are doing. Once they start breaking out the gaslighting neo-liberal word play I generally assume any convo is dead in the water. As if implying people not wanting BLM and other hyper political activist-led call-to-actions invading their sports time is a direct translation to them not caring about black lives, just S tier thinking.

The hilarious thing about the MLB making a fuss over this voting law that is technically expanding almost all voter privileges beyond where they were pre-pandemic, is that they are saying voter ID law is racist. As if it's not racist to assume minorities can't figure out how to get an ID, not that we can be too surprised since our own President has stated it's hard for them to figure out internet access too. Something they would need in order to fly, buy alcohol/smokes, if they were ever pulled over by police, wanted to be legally allowed to drive in the first place, or if they wanted to pick up reserved tickets from the ticket desks for ANY MLB game. And to top it off to show how much they're against hurting minority communities, they pull out of 54% black Atlanta and move to 90% white Colorado, essentially taking away millions in potential revenue for black-owned businesses. Bravo.

Except I'm not arguing that BLM is political... I'm arguing that they're not the first to inject politics into sports, so claiming that this is some awful new thing is just plain silly.  Wouldn't your argument be the motte and bailey one, in this case?

Also, don't you think the contempt that MLB showed for half the state of Georgia over a truly nuanced voting law would turn off a lot of viewer.

I thought businesses had the right to do as they pleased?  As an aside, I think it's great that there is a motion to remove their antitrust exemption, though I doubt it goes anywhere.  The MLB decided that Georgia's voting law doesn't align with its values - they have every right to move their All Star Game as a result.  I'm trying to figure out what it is you want from this?

Most fans want sports and not MSNBC with some throwing and catching.

Except there is a strong argument to be made that sports are already heavily politicized, which in turns means what you're saying is that most fans want sports with Fox News and some throwing and catching.  In fact I'd argue there is no argument at all, sports are 100% politicized.  So you don't care about politics in sports, just that it reflects your politics.  Which is no argument at all.

Most baseball fans are not as interested in politics as you are.  Most of us are enthusiastic about the season and don't mind seeing some pretty ladies on MLB.  That is about it.

has to be kelly nash?

No but Kelly's dresses are noticeably tight.   It's Lauren Gardner.  She might be new because I have only seen her in the past couple of days.

I've come to dislike professional sports a lot over the past few years and now I kind of hope they go out of business.

Also how lame is it to be a grown man and wear a jersey with another man's name on it?

I have not worn a name on a sports shirt since I was a kid.  I do have a short sleeve Mets shirt, though.
