Mock portfolios... Yay or Nay ?

So yesterday I was talking to a guy from sales at a BB when he offered me to review my CV.

I had a section titled projects where I had mentioned the projects I had done in VBA related to options.

He tells me that it adds absolutely no value to the CV since every one lists it and when he gets a CV he does not care about it.

So I asked him what can I put instead to show I'm interested in markets. He goes on to say that something like a personal mock portfolio would grab his attention rather than the projects that I implemented.

Now going through other threads on this site I've found some people recommending for and against this.

What would your opinion be on this matter? And if I should not implement a mock portfolio what can I include in my CV that will show my interest in Markets.

Thanks.

use a free or low cost platform and create a REAL portfolio. Even if its just one share of stock. Then trade your portfolio. Do analysis on your portfolio and try to maximize your returns. Use a strategy, risk management rules, etc...

just google it...you're welcome
