Morgan Stanley Institutional Equity Superday

As a sophomore, I had my superday about a week and a half ago for a summer internship in IE at Morgan Stanley. I haven't heard anything back yet, but other people have also told me that they typically wouldn't get back to a sophomore until all the juniors have already accepted or declined their offers.

Is that true based on what you all have heard? If so, what's the point of even interviewing sophomores?

I'm not sure about the timeline, but sophomore interns are treated a little differently during the summer. You go through the same rotation setup, but you're rotations are a little more flexible, especially towards the end. Also, I believe the base pay for sophomore interns is a little lower, and the competition for a return summer offer is a little less intense than that for a FT offer. Given that, I wouldn't be surprised if the sophomore intern offer timeline was a little slower, but I can't be sure.

I had one on Jan 20th this year, took a week to hear back but didn't get the offer. Be prepared for mainly behaviorals, with some more unique ones being "what most intrigues you about finance", "what do you most and least look forward to when working in a team", etc. and be prepared to speak on almost every experience and interest on your resume. No stock picking or deal info. I am a Finance & Accounting major at a top 10 business school and the valuation and accounting questions were all very basic. glhf
