House of Bijan on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. Appointment only for suits and they've dressed several former Presidents.

Tom Ford, New York. He formally ran Gucci. If you have $13,000 for shoes, I would recommend it. Hermes is a good store too if you can afford $50,000 Birkin Bag.

I like Tom Ford, but I wouldn't say he's absurdly expensive or exclusive. You can get a suit or tux for $5,000. Sunglasses MSRP for $400 but I have two pair that cost less than $200.

Thrift shop in the back alleys of Mumbai - will cost you everything, literally

Fucking experienced that two days ago. Luckily I put everything on my credit card before they started threatening me so I called up my credit card company and had them cancel the charges. Rocks thrown at me and all.

Depends on the category you're looking at, I guess. Watches, handbags, jewelry, etc. will pretty much by default be more expensive than other garments and accessories.

Some that jump to mind:

  • Historic houses on Savile Row for bespoke suits along with Bijan, especially once you start adding rare fabrics, materials and custom adaptations.
  • Couture shops like Oscar de la Renta, arguably traditional the likes of Valentino and Dior before they started pandering to the social media hordes
  • Some less formal brands/ products such as visvim, CCP shoes, ...

I just bought some jeans from Target. $27.99. They fit great and they’re almost as comfortable as Paige jeans but substantially cheaper. Save money, invest.
