And he had a really shitty childhood, like, really, really shitty. Most people would probably take their time until 36 just to recover from that stuff and he just powered through it. He´s like a humble and friendly (and Asian) version of Arnold Schwarzenegger, just from that incredible drive and passion he emits.

Really shows the importance of two things: 1. Passion in knowing what you want (becoming strong -> warrior, wanting to save his charges -> physician) 2. Thoughtfulness and preparation (trained for the exact skillset, at any time)

Person I met during a networking event was on an Olympic team, and interned at Goldman his/her soph year

Bro, she is MIT-Harvard + achieved the holy trinity of IB Big3, Consulting MBB, Tech Google + side quests in Nasa and WEF International Policy + Web3 Founder

I know most are internships, but it's more likely by choice than by not receiving return offers.

Porter Collins

outstanding move meme

"The obedient always think of themselves as virtuous rather than cowardly" - Robert A. Wilson | "If you don't have any enemies in life you have never stood up for anything" - Winston Churchill | "It's a testament to the sheer belligerence of the profession that people would rather argue about the 'risk-adjusted returns' of using inferior tooth cleaning methods." - kellycriterion

I met a bigshot who told me he saw the resume of a former president's kid come across his desk.  He also got a call from the former president just touching base on the status of his kid starting a career at said organization. He still had the cell number in his Blackberry to prove it to me.

Long story short, the kid rejected their offer.

xQc, also known as Felix Lengyel

This is the type of guy who WSO would make fun of (before his massive success)

.

- Worked lots of odd jobs from teenage to young adulthood including:

newspaper carrier, janitor, landscaper

- Had lots of acquaintances but never any real close friends

- Dropped out of 2 year college in Montreal, Canada

- Became an pro e-sports player and played for Team Canada

- Kicked out of team for unsportsmanlike behavior

- Started streaming (recording self to an internet audience playing games) full-time from 2016

- Coach surfer, living in friend's homes

- Became a millionaire at age 23 (probably around 2018/2019)

- Annual income in 2020/2021 was $4,000,000+ per year according to leaked documents

- After 7 years, in 2023, landed a $100,000,000 two year contract to stream on Kick

.

Tell me any other 27 year old in history who will be worth $100,000,000+ by age 29 through

playing video games and watching youtube videos.

No boss, no schedule, can work on his own terms wherever in the world.

.

Those in the entertainment industry, such as professional actors / musicians / athletes

still have obligations to respect and follow through.

Multiple higher ups that play a huge role in their career development.

Lots of pressure from fans and also within of not being "good enough".

.

Outside of lottery winners or trust fund babies,

xQc is the richest young person in the world with the least amount of effort required.

And he did this while starting from zero (was a janitor and college drop out)

Miss his OG 24+ hour Overwatch streams

The important thing is never to let oneself be guided by the opinion of one's contemporaries; to continue steadfastly on one's way without letting oneself be either defeated by failure or diverted by applause.
