Most sought after Real Estate roles?

Disclaimer: I know close to nothing about real estate, but since I found out WSO has an RE forum I was curious to ask this.

My overall question is what are the sought after, typical career roles in real estate? What's the role that most people aim? As noted above, I'm not experienced in this field what so ever so the only job I know of is being a realtor and I'm fairly sure not everyone on this forum is a realtor though I may be wrong.

Second, are there certain firms that people aim for or are they all the same playing field? For example, in investment banking, everyone's aiming for BB offers, in consulting everyone's aiming for MBB offers and in law everyone's aiming for Biglaw offers so what would the equivalent be in RE?

Thanks

99.99% of RE folks in this forum are not realtors/residential real estate agents. Most work in commercial real estate- brokers, lenders, developers, etc. Most sought after are "prestigious" acquisitions/private equity jobs. Next would be development jobs. Then I would put lending, capital markets and investment sales/brokerage in the same tier.
