Moving from Biotech into Equity Research
I worked in the biotech industry for 2 years following undergrad, then transitioned into finance related roles. I got licensed at a life insurance company then moved into investor relations, however I want to move away from customer service roles.
I write due diligence and analysis on different biotech, pharma, and medtech devices for publications like seeking alpha and others, however I would love to move into a full career in equity research for biotechs at a firm.
My DD involves analysis of the drug products and the trial results and is usually around 3-4,000 words long, however I dont get paid enough to devote 6+ hours to each article at the moment. What is the best route to move away from my current roles in investor relations and into equity research roles. I have a bachelors in molecular biology, and I am debating on getting my MBA.
