Moving from institutional equity sales to trading?

Hi all,

First and foremost - apologies for the rather basic question. I've scoured the forums online and I found it difficult to come across my query regarding S&T and was hoping someone could drop some insight.

I've completed a year as an IBD analyst and realised it was not for me. I started looking towards market roles and managed to land myself an institutional equities sales role.

Trading seems to be my end goal and I was wondering if people ever do make the jump from sales to trading? ( I do know it usually happens more the other way around ).

Just a few things to note - I'm 23 years old / based in south east asia/ graduated from a target in the UK.
