Moving from Research to IBD and others

Hi WSO community,
I currently work in credit research in London at a BB and will likely move to Frankfurt next year (am native German).
Just as a background: after uni in the US (non-core, but top 20-ish), I started at the same BB in the US in Wealth Management (WM), moved to London and continued working in WM (but a more technical role) before then moving to credit research in the IB at the same BB >1 year ago.
I potentially plan on moving to Frankfurt next year and was considering staying at my current BB (or moving to a competitor) and moving to IBD or leverage finance or private debt (the latter two would be at a competitor).

If anyone can share insights and thoughts (i.e. from experience) on the following, I would very really appreciate that:
1.) Given the above, how do you see the chances of moving to IBD/lev fin/private debt (or something similar) in Frankfurt without taking a step a back (i.e. moving on the same level (was already forced to go one year back when I moved from WM to IB))? Any other advice and or insights on that topic (aside from the obvious)?
2.) If anyone working in Frankfurt can share any advice regarding opportunities, good shops and/or general job search taking my background into consideration, I would highly appreciate it.

Thanks a lot in advance for any insights and help!
