Moving to a more technical role (Business Development to Supply Chain)
Hi guys,
I'm an industrial engineering graduate; I got an offer from a bank to work in business development and I had to sign a 4-year contract because the would train me; I accepted it (because I thought jobs don't grow on trees) and completed the training now.
I am somewhat regretful as this job is mostly non-technical and soft skill based.
I think I should have sought a more technical role in areas like production, supply chain, project management, etc; then moved to a less technical role after years of experience.
My question is: what technical roles can I move to after gaining 4 years of experience in business development?
I was thinking maybe supply chain management could be an option since many of the skills it requires can be learned through my current job. Do you guys think that doing an MSc in supply chain management or engineering management then moving into an SCM job would be a smart move?
