MSc in Economics (Finance) from Copenhagen

Hi all Wall Streeters :)

At the moment I'm finishing High School. I'm the classic B/B+ student, being best in math and physics while having both at the highest possible level available to us. The plan is to study Economics at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark with an overweight of finance classes after finishing High School. That will earn me a MSc in Economics (Finance) after 5 years.

But! My dream has always been to travel to New York, get a job at one of the big banks on Wall Street and start working my way to the top. I'm just a bit worried. The University of Copenhagen is average compared to a lot of the top tier universities and I won't even be achieving an MBA! I don't have enough money to get into a top tier school and my B/B+ probably won't be enough either. Does this mean that I can forget everything about getting into GS, JPMorgan or any of the likes because they only accept MBA's from top schools and won't even glance at someone with a MSc from an average university?

Also, besides having a good education, its not what you know its WHO you know. Networking will most likely be the reason that you get where you want to be, not a piece of paper that says you know something that will mean almost nothing once you get into the place where you want to work.

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go - T.S. Eliot See my WSO Blog
