looking to transition into finance and eventually get an MBA for a F500 job. currently a daytrader but did my undergrad as a nonfinance major so I'm willing to go back to school in the meantime just in case my edge gets eroded within the next few years

Do you mind sharing what was your major? Well, an MSF can be a career switcher but you have to know exactly what you want to do after that. You have to know in advance that in order for your MSF to make the difference you have to do it in a good b-school UK or US top 5. You also need good quant skills. In my opinion you don't need an MSF and an MBA...

You say that in your opinion your don't need an MSF and an MBA? Could you explain this? A lot of higher level jobs in Finance ask for "MBA preferred" so wouldn't someone need to eventually get their MBA to be in line for these jobs even if they have an MBA?
