MSRE/D Programs

Hi, I am currently applying to Pepperdine MSRE, Hopkins MSREI, Columbia MSRED, Cornell Baker Program, Georgetown MSRE, Fordham MSRE and NYU MSRE. I have a background in finance and I have an undergrad GPA of 3.53 from a somewhat well known business school. I have 4 years of industry experience as a commercial credit analyst and loan specialist at a credit union (2 as an intern and 2 full time) I am interested in real estate consulting and investments. Do you have any advice for which program might be best for me and which ones I may get into?

I was accepted to several of the programs mentioned above and graduated from the Harvard program. During my time I met a lot of students from each of those schools.

Most of the programs have a particular lens or focus on them. For example, Columbia's program is a very general program and heavily focused on NYC real estate due to its location where as NYU places much more emphasis on finance.

My recommendation would be Columbia, MIT, or UCLA given your background. I would recommend the Harvard program as well but unfortunately it is currently being revamped and is not accepting candidates yet.

Happy to chat further, PM me.

I hear great things about Columbia’s MBA with a RE concentration but I haven’t heard much about the MSRED program. From what I gather it is mainly development focused and concentrated on the NYC market (as you mentioned). I personally don’t think I will go there since I am more interested in the business aspect as well as a school with a national/international focus

Applied to Columbia, MIT, and NYU and got accepted to NYU so far. Does anyone know how to check whether I received financial aids or not? The admission letter doesn't seem to include any info on that. Maybe it means I didn't receive any?

Once you send them your FAFSA info you get a financial package including fellowship/scholarship/federal funding packages. I got a fellowship to NYU. Columbia and MIT have not released decisions yet so not sure how it works for those schools
