Music - Right direction
Help! I had to re-boot my personal laptop, which held the tens of thousands of songs I have downloaded over the past couple of years. Unfortunately, I had very recently cleared my iPod and only put on about 200 songs -- so I have no backup. I don't even know where to begin with music downloads (I feel so out-of-the-loop not being in college to hear all the new stuff). Any suggestions are welcome, especially some good old college dance party music, to get me going in the right direction. I don't even know where to begin with the downloads!
record: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix artist: Phoenix
I second this. Also, Cut Copy- In Ghost Colours and Hot Chip- Made in the Dark
Hmm, there were a couple good threads on music here:

Not sure I can really help you with college dance party though... I can tell you there's this program TouchCopy that can copy back from your iPod to your computer. Might want to look into it, I've heard good things (I don't have anything Apple personally).
Good music: hypem.com College dance party music: fratmusic.com
Both are necessary
I wasn't terribly serious about the dance party music -- I'm just looking for some good music. Suggestions welcome!
jimbrown: what music genre are you into generally?
Like the avatar of Dacarez I can recommend you all Ministry of Sound releases. Their Annual or Clubbers Guide releases usually contain great hits mixed together flawlessly

haha you are such a tool
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Some pretty good stuff in there -- I also haven't shut hypem.com all day, that's a great site to discover some music I probably wouldn't discover otherwise.
I like most music, not a huge rap/techno/trance guy, some country is OK. I'm not opposed to anything, really.
Thanks, brah. Clearly you didn't sense the lack of seriousness in my comment. But if you bothered to read some of the other posts, you'd see that I clearly stated I was not actually looking for dance party music.
Out of curiosity, what caused you to think it made sense to call me a "tool?" Didn't you include a headshot with your resume when sending it out? C'mon bud.
nope never put it in, it was just a question...
The following (with updates):
You said brah! hahaha
You just strike me as being a loser and it seems like you were never actually "in the loop".
You typed out the word "brah" hahahaha... you have got to be kidding me, thats probably worse then actually saying it (Im aware I made this point twice)
You think country music is ok
You are probably ugly
There just seems to be nothing in your favor
Hey...stop with the bitterness....Have a Happy and Safe New Year....You two - go grab a beer.
Man, you have a serious issue with detecting sarcasm, eh? The whole "brah" thing was not even a little bit serious.
As far as your other comments... they are hilarious and not even worth a response. Your opinion is much appreciated!
