Music to listen to while working
Title says it all...
What music do you guys prefer while working? Can't stand the silence but can't have something with any words in it. Anyone feel the same?

I'm the same way. As much as it sounds like stupid snowflake rhetoric, I must have some sort of music playing to work effectively. If it's silent, I'll meander around WSO, Reddit, and other internet pits.
When I look for background music to listen to while working, I gravitate towards fast paced where the words don't matter much. If it's vocal focused, I tend to latch on more to the music rather than the actual work.
There's tons of other songs/artists/genres but this is one of my internet pits taking away from actual money making work right now...
Love the social network soundtrack
Thanks for The Social Network Soundtrack rec.
Lofi Hip Hop playlists on spotify or youtube. The one by chilledcow is always good.
I also bump EDM sometimes so I can be hype as fuck when doing mindless work.
Lofi is great but it almost puts me to sleep at times
Had over 200 hours on the lush lofi playlist on Spotify for last year lol
It's like the single type of music thats good for everything. I use it for working, driving, exercising, falling to sleep, and fuggin (got several compliments on it from ladies over the years).
Death metal. Lately have been spinning the new CoB and Omnium Gatherum albums as well as some older Avatar.
Down with the sickness?
Not a big Disturbed fan actually
1990s In Flames
Dude yes. The OG album I referenced has a lot of influence from early in flames.
Hardcore/Punk [Counterparts, Jesus Piece, Vanna (old), Harms way, Code Orange] if I really need to concentrate or fight sleep.
Soft pop/hiphop/moody stuffy [LANY, Joan, Charlotte Lawrence, 6LACK, Majid Jordan, aftertheparty, etc.] especially helpful for repetitive tasks.
Piano music or cello-heavy classical [various spotify playlists] early mornings.
Really need to try out the hardcore/metal for work - never actually took it seriously
It worked for Michael Burry, it can work for you!
My background was in hardcore/punk (I toured in a band playing this type of music for five years before undergrad/finance), so maybe my affinity to its helpfulness at work is biased, but I feel like heavy aggression just pinpoints my focus. 10/10 recommend it, the harder the better.
binaural beats
do you notice anything with that shit?
Psytrance, Vini Vidi etc.
Glad to see someone else is into some trance
Maybe I'm stuck in the past using Pandora with Spotify Premium and Apple Music out now, but The Magician Radio channel always works for me. Light, good pace, minimal vocals, easy listening for grinding.
I usually listen to the Lo-Fi Beats playlist on Spotify and I've been listening to the Deep Focus playlist on Spotify since my college days. Both are pretty good.
Sometimes you just need to get hyped the fuck up, and this is where EDM is great.
'#FreeMartinShkreli Trump should pardon him, maybe WSO should start a petition

The "This is 40" soundtrack has been on loop for a couple of weeks for me now. A lot of new tracks from your mom's roadtrip mixtape type artists, but, it definitely brings a nice chill vibe with some very great background lyricism to add to a sense of calm.
Here is the link for what you're looking for.
Gucci Mane. Makes me feel like the Trap God of the markets
Township Rebellion, give them a listen :)
Lo-fi hip-hop is a real thing. 24/7
Super eclectic on my side:
Used to listen a lot to Infected Mushroom - an Israeli psytrance duo. Was recommended it by a former manager and ended up listening to it straight through uni for revision.
Have recently become a big fan of synthwave (loads of generic playlists on YouTube): very 1980s vibe; find it slightly less intense than IM and, I find, is just good for background.
Kygo. Makes you feel like you're at the beach with the tropical, chill vibes.
Exactly !
Another vote for lofi hip-hop radio. That shit is sublime.
Meek Mill yoo
.
Done, look it up on Spotify: Wall Street Oasis - Official Playlist :-) -- I think you can suggest or add tracks there?
.
Game of Thrones sound track on repeat.
I like to listen to the blues while working, it calms and does not distract from work
I find playlists that are especially made for concentrating - not a lot of lyrics for most of them. White noise also worked for me for a while, but no more than 4 hours.
do drugs listen to loud rap music drugs drugs drugs experiences drugs death life well lived accompanied by dale DAN TONY
this is fucking funny as well
Alternatives mostly.
For me always AC/DC or Kygo go-to. Usually a tropical house playlist
I urgently need to download music to my computer, preferably in .mp3 format, can someone recommend a website for this?
