My first RE informational interview

Fairly new monkey here looking for some insight. I have an informational interview with a VP next week from a top RE development company. I've really looking forward to speaking to one of the team members to get some insight about the industry and hopefully one day to join the team.

I don't have any experience in RE, so I don't know much of the language but have prior internships in IB. Just looking for some insight on how to prepare for the informational interview and how to show that I really want to join the team. Also, please share any resources that you may believe beneficial for me to learn about real estate finance or about real estate development within a week.

Thanks WSO

Might be obvious, but be extremely familiar with what the company does and you should have a natural answer to his questions on why RE? why development? why us?. There is a good amount of information on development and RE finance on this forum so just search through the threads.

One piece of advice for you: people like to talk about themselves.

Aside from asking him the information you need, ask him about himself, what led him to choose development, what his trajectory was like, etc. Make it flow. You'll score more points if you can connect with him on a personal level, too.
