My offer is a little strange.
Hey guys, I was lucky enough to get an offer at a boutique firm, but their offer letter is a little strange. They said that hiring is done on a first-come first-serve basis (i.e. whomever accepts the offer and gets in touch with the company early gets hired first), and that there is a chance that if I don't reply soon, then they will fill it up with someone else who replied sooner.
I am asking because I am still waiting on several firms. Are they just trying to scare me or should I play it safe?
Thanks
ugh... I would accept and then if you get something better, make the move. What do you stand to lose?
..yea second the above poster.
seriously, these guys sound like hacks...nothing wrong with accepting and reneging later if you get something better. just don't tell them who you got an offer with...
What are the other firms that you're waiting on? Boutiques or BB's? That really changes the question drastically...
I'm waiting on a well known Boutique. This firm is VERY small, with about 20 people, and the incoming class is about ~3.
Sign and renege if need be
This market is too risky and its too late in the recruitment process. Sign as soon as possible.
Agree with whoever above that said they are hacks. Seriously, you're going to sign with a firm that operates like that? First-come, first-serve...this isn't Walmart.
You can do better than that, sign with a firm that acts like professionals.
Agree with Hacks, if they do it even before you start working with them....what would it be afterwards ?...
