Name of firm on resume

I did a summer analyst stint at a firm that was pretty reputable in its sub-industry, however, last October they changed their name and divested from the larger firm they were part of. The new name is not as recognizable (though it does contain the name of one of the original founders of the old firm) so my question is is it okay to make a note of its original name in my resume? I'm not sure if I would run into any legal issues by doing this but I definitely think the resume will get more attention if it had the firm's original name on it. What do you guys think?

Use the name it was called when you worked there.

Robert Clayton Dean: What is happening? Brill: I blew up the building. Robert Clayton Dean: Why? Brill: Because you made a phone call.

Not to steal the thread, but say you worked at the corporate offices of a company... do you put ___ corporate offices or just the company name?

just the company name with the city it was in

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
