NBA Finals coming to a close
So the NBA season is over...lets be real the Cavs are going to get destroyed tonight. FYI - I'm the biggest Lebron fan out there so it hurts me to say that the Cavs stand no chance tonight and will be getting swept.
What do the Cavs need to do next year to make the finals competitive. Are there any free-agent players that can put the Cavs over the top against this juggernaut....Melo? Paul George? Or are the warriors just going to smash the league for the next 4-6 years?
I think the Cavs will come back and win in game 7 because Lebron is the GOAT
Would be surprised if Silver allows a sweep. On one hand you have "greatest team ever" to milk but lots of lost revenue. Not a conspiracy theorist, but let's be real. Sports leagues are multi billion dollar entertainment companies, they will make business decisions and they all have plenty of times.
Melo, no. Paul George, yes. Melo needs to be in an offense where he has the ball and he must create his own shots, doesn't really work well with Lebron, Kyrie, Love. Who would you put at the 4? Unless you want to shop Love for a better sg. Paul george is an upgrade from JR and would fit into lineup just fine. Problem would be paying for all that.
Dude stop it with the bullshit "they'll fix the series" analysis. Honestly, it is so basic. Let's do a simple cost-benefit scenario. Benefit of fixing the series to last longer: more revenue now. Cons: if they fix the series and the media gets a hold of it the NBA could literally irreparably damage their reputation and brand and lose billions in revenue for a decade, or more. Now, as a person in business, would you take that risk for what amounts to a pittance in gains compared to the overall profit-making machine that is the league?
2002 kings lakers? Barely any long term damage, kobe and shaq and lakers enhanced legacy. Bigger market, bigger stars. Better long and short term.
Melo would be an absolutely perfect addition to the cavs, assuming PG isn't an option. He no longer "needs the ball" and would be a perfect fit on the wing as a spot up shooter/creator.
You would put melo at the 4? and do what with Love? That's not melo's game and never was
Disagree about Melo being a great addition, they need someone who can defend Kevin Durant not another aging slow iso player. They need George or Butler.
Paul George would be a good start, they also need to gut players that are taking up cap space (deron, richard jefferson). Honestly though the celtics could overtake the cavs next season.
Can't give 4 guys the max though. Are you assuming they trade Love or Kyrie?
Tough to say who they should trade, Kyrie is great but for me is more focused on making highlights than actually winning games, while Love seems overpaid for what he brings. Mind you I don't follow NBA super close
Cavs are capable of taking tonight's game, but there's not a chance in hell they win at Oracle imo.
I'd love to see D Rose go to the Cavs, I think he can do great as a backup PG and DWill clearly trash. Beyond that, I don't know. The Cavs would have to pull a Golden State and sign some role players who they get incredible value out of (basically every player on GS who's not a star). Probably replace Tristan "double double machine" Thompson with someone capable of getting more rebounds than the other team's point guard. Some people will say trading a player because of a few bad games is irrational, but if I'm LeGM I'm building a team tailored to beat GS. TT appears to prioritize chasing Kardashian tail over winning a championship. Even if they do all of the above and all the pieces fall in the right place, it's a long and dark path against these Warriors.
I'm mostly focused on what CP3 is doing this offseason. Him + Kawhi + Popp could beat the Warriors.
After Golden State sweeps the series Lebron James sells out to the Lakers to join up with Lonzo Ball, and leaves Cleveland with blue balls (again)...
LaVar Ball will concordently join the Lakers as official Team Mom, making eyes roll four years running.
The NBA ain't letting the Warriors sweep that easily....Ref Bob and Ref Jim gunna be the MVPs tonight. Lebron needs to treat them to a steak dinner lmao
Might be the case but that flagrant on KLove was SAWFT.
On another note, Zaza is a disgusting human being. Stepping under Kawhi, stepping on LeBron, and a history of being a POS
Edit: what is going on with this technical bs, "not a good look for the NBA"
You do realize Lebron initiated the hard contact on Zaza on that same play? I mean say what you want about Zaza, but Lebron pulls bs like that all the time with no call.
That flagrant was goofy, but not as goofy as the call on Green, which resulted in that second "confusion" call when the refs realized their one sided coin was becoming too ignorant lmao.
It's hard to watch - the game had no flow. NBA always does this in the finals when it fails to go to game 6 or 7.
What if I told you: JR Smith was the most heroic basketball player in NBA history?
ESPN 30 for 30 presents: Cavs in 7
NBA is turning into the WWE
