Need Advice: Should I cancel my internship for health reasons?

A bit about myself: Junior year, I've done a PE internship, 3.7+ GPA, extra curriculars, investment club at school and I'm currently recruiting for SA 2021. I have an off-cycle IB internship at a regional boutique starting in 3 weeks and i am debating whether I should cancel it if I get a offer at a BB for SA 2021. My fear is that it looks bad if the BB finds out I didn't do the internship.

My reason for wanting to cancel is because I've been mentally and physically unhealthy for the past 2 years. It's really gotten to me this summer. I won't get into the details but I have some bad substance habits. i'm fully functional but it's been deteriorating my mental health and I procrastinate like crazy. I could probably go through the internship and end up all right but I seriously think I would benefit from having a semester of just taking classes, hitting the gym, eating healthy and dropping the substances.

What are your thoughts?

I know what you're feeling man. Although I can't give you advice on whether or not you should go through with your internship this fall; I can say absolutely put yourself mentally and physically at first. IB is a job where you gotta be 100% mentally stable because it will bring out whatever habits you have to the next level. Honestly, I'd say stick with the off-cycle gig for a few weeks (at least 1 month to put Sept-Oct on resume), and if it's too much than drop it. Hop on a road bike or go on long runs - that shit clears your head
