Looks like a standard PE description to me. It seems to belong to the MM segment.

Do you think this is worth wild? I'm coming from FP&A 2.5 years talking to a recruiter and he presented me with this...compensation is nice and hours are >80. I'm just concerned without having that IB background going into this role, and what that means I can get into a year or two of doing this...

Not exactly sure about what you mean by what you can get by doing 1 or 2 year of this. Are you planning to go business school after 2 years? You can look into the profiles of the current employees to see whether MBA is required for the firm. Also, I feel that PE provides you more options than FP&A and starting somewhere would definitely help a lot if you would like to do PE in the long run.

Unless you have a lot of commitments, I wont really worry about the hours as it can potentially save you the costs of a MBA/MSF if you are trying to break into the industry. Honestly, I dont really see a lot of PE firms willing to take chances on people outside of the traditional background.

I guess you may want to elaborate more on what do you mean by worth it.

Having no traditional banking experience that can be transferable to PE (the usually 2 year IB analyst > PE role switch), what can that mean for me taking this role? Am I at a disadvantage down the road because of the lack of banking exp? What doors could possibly open for me with this experience under my belt? Would you take this given my current exp?
