Is it reasonable to expect carry at the mid-level?
Can second this. Lots of responsibility, access and interesting work, but in the end your Progress is decided by your BO. They decide your focus, your salary,... and that is often not only numbers driven. Have seen people get fired on a whim (after headhunting them to join) because BO changed his mind on focus of the FO. Getting fired like that (even if unrelated to your performance) by sb with notable fame in his/her industry doesn't look great. Make sure to vet who you will be working for and what you're getting into.
