NERA summer internship interview
Anyone familiar with NERA's interview process for their summer internships?
Also, what do you guys think would make for a good writing sample? I have more writing to choose from from non-business/econ courses, but do you think I should focus more on those areas?
For your writing sample, just choose something well-written and easy-to-read. It doesn't have to be business/economics related, but that would be slightly preferred. As a reference, I used an anthropology/sociology-type paper and got an interview offer.
At my school, NERA did OCR with first-round phone interviews.

Anybody have any experience with the summer internship process at NERA? What are the interviews like? How many rounds? etc. I just got an email saying they were interested in considering me for a summer internship and then gave me 8 options to rank for which office/practice I preferred. Anybody else get this? I sent in my preferences but I'm not sure what the next steps are here.
I got the email after applying for the internship online on their website btw. I'm not sure if they do extensive OCR for internships.
I submitted an application two weeks ago, but still have not heard anything.
I applied at the end of January so maybe they haven't gone through everyone's app yet. Took them 4 weeks to get back to me.
Which office did you apply to? I listed Chicago as my number one choice. Best of luck to you on your interview! I've found good NERA interview prep on some of the other WSO threads, the urch forums, and glassdoor.
I didn't actually mention any preference in my application but they emailed me and asked me to rank my top 8. I listed Los Angeles as my number one. They listen the energy practice in chicago as an option too.
Hey, did anyone go through the first-round phone interview? I wonder what are the next steps after the initial screening.
