networking by using Bloomberg Terminal IM

I get some questions regards whether I should use Bloomberg terminal in-message to networking since it is the most convenient way to do it. I just a little bit worry about it would be annoyed if you are working in the middle of something and a notification pop-out. Any suggestions will be appreciated!
What's your logic for Bloomberg Terminal > email?
I thought it is more convenient to get an instant response. But you are right, email is a more common way to do this. Thanks a lot!
Don't do it, people are using the terminals when they are working and use it only for work not talking to undergrads. If you use email or linkedin there is a reasonable expectation of kids reaching out to talk.

It can be overbearing, I'd probably steer away from it. The last thing someone wants while focused and pulling data or something is an undergrad IM'ing them from their school's bloomie lab. I probably wouldn't mind, but you never know.
