Networking for young professionals in Chicago?
Anybody have any ideas on what the best activities, clubs, things to get involved with, etc,. that could lead to solid networking opportunities? I'm going to work at a bank in Chicago next year, and I'm going to know a ton of people from school, but I'd like to branch out a little bit. I'm not going to be an IB analyst (at least not for the first year), so I won't be working crazy hours and should have time.
It's a bit early to be thinking about but it came across my mind today.
Thanks.
good question... any advice?

I am interning in downtown chicago this summer and want to make the most of my time in the city. What is a good way to meet with industry individuals and get ahead to secure internships further on. I am going into my sophomore year in college.
Connect with analysts and associates on Linkedin and then proceed to ask if they have time to have a brief informational phone call / convo over coffee. You'll be surprised at how many bankers will actually take the time.
Thank you for that advice. I'll be sure to try it. Are there other places I should look other than LinkedIn?
Your school should have an alumni database or something that you can use.
We do but its not good at all and doesn't provide necessary information to reach out and contact them.
