Had informational interview, but no response after sending resume

I had an informational interview that I thought went pretty good and he ended the call telling me to send over my resume.

So I worked on my resume and sent it to him with the following email:

"Hi Ken,

Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to speak with me on Friday. I found your insights incredibly helpful and I will be sure to apply all of the advice that you have given me. Per our discussion, attached is my resume. I would be very interested in working for *Firm Name*, and thank you again for your time and advice.

Best regards,
Paul

Did I say something wrong or was my resume too weak or other?

Considering we don't know anything about your background with out having to do research on you, no one would be able to say anything about that side of things.

Have you tried following up with them regarding anything? Not necessarily your resume/future job, but even just something that you talked about, building a relationship even further.

It just doesn't go Cold email>Phone Call>Send Resume>Get job offer.

Well at the end of the call, they ask for the resume and say that they'll forward it to someone he/she knows. So I craft a thank you email with the resume attached and state that "I will keep you updated on my progress" or something along those lines. But these emails don't get responded to so I'm not sure whether my resume got forwarded. How do I get to the next step from here?

Sil:

What type of response are you talking about? Confirmation that they received your resume? Invitations for interviews?

Just keep in touch with your contact and ping them again when recruiting season starts.

A response like "I forwarded on your resume and let me know if you hear anything" like we discussed over the phone. I'm not even sure whether my resume was forwarded or what happened. I'm having these calls because I'm trying to make a career switch and hope that they aren't only looking for perfect background fits.

You are never going to get those types of replies. Confirming receipt is something they do in corporate settings, not in banking. Why spent a minute responding when I can spend a minute working on something that will affect my bonus?

My suggestion would be to continue what you are doing, but follow up with them after a few weeks.
