I just applied to Morgan Stanley and Bank of America’s Sophomore programs. What should my next step be? Do I have to network with alumni there in order to have a real shot?

Yes, never just dump your resume. No matter how good it is, start getting connected and reaching out to people until you speak to someone with enough influence to get your resume in-front of the right people.
Also apply to some regional banks if you really want to do IB. If you don’t get the BB sophomore offers I’m sure a smaller shop would be willing. Then you can leverage that experience for a junior year offer
