Neuroscience in Equity Research...

I am recent graduate from a target school looking to break into the financial service industry. During college I majored in Neuroscience while take a few basic accounting, finance and econ classes. At first I thought I would follow the medicine path but has since lost desire and decided that I want to start my career in finance. Unfortunately I do not have any financial working experience. I was a participant in the finance club at my school. I have contemplated go to b-school and pursuing an MBA but think that it may be in my best interest to gain working experience first. I am in search of any advice that can help find an internship or entry level job within the industry. I am particularly interested in equity research within the healthcare sector (thought it may be wised to put my degree to some use). Can anyone point me in the right direction or put my in contact with someone who can. I currently live in the NYC area and would like to stay here.

Really appreciate it.

The ER field is very small and selective. It's going to be pretty tough honestly without a finance undergrad background and with already being out of school. MBA is out of the question until you have 3-5 years experience. Just network your ass off with all of the major banks ER guys and hope for the best.

Do you have any advice then on a entry level job that can help me get my foot into ER. I'm considering consulting also.

You should take the first level of the CFA in June. Start networking.

Could consider trying to get some industry experience, such as at a major pharma company.
