New low? Rejected by KPMG for first round interview.

LOL I'm curious about the high tier of candidates that I am competing against for this prestigious KPMG opportunity. I had 2 IB internships on my resume, with tons of leadership experience but got rejected by them haha

Funniest

“I have INVESTMENT BANKING experience. Why won’t they drool over my INVESTMENT BANKING experience. People who do ACCOUNTING are INFERIOR to students like me who have experience working in INVESTMENT BANKING. Those dumb ACCOUNTANTS will never have INVESTMENT BANKING experience!”

Chill out there, chief. It sounds like you’re a bit entitled.

I don’t understand your comment, you had 2 IB internships but are applying to KPMG and have an attitude that they are beneath you. Well great, go work at the IB you interned at, is that not an option?

I was ready to read your message and offer some encouragement as I’ve been in the seat of being rejected many times and have been able to have a successful (by my metrics) career.

But I think you need to adjust your attitude. You seem to have an inflated view of yourself, and that may be coming off in your preparation, interviews, etc.

It is also possible that you are applying through low probability routes (online) and getting rejected because you aren’t approaching the application well (either on campus, networking, targeted events, etc). But you should have a mentality around how can you make yourself as competitive as possible instead of trashing other places sarcastically, figure out why you aren’t landing the interviews and fix the things you can (and stop worrying about the stuff you can’t)

But if these opportunities are so beneath you, there is an easy option, don’t apply.

You got rejected by a supposedly "inferior" firm and you still find a way to blame everybody else but you. Time for some introspection my friend.
