New Member Asking For Career Advice
Here is some background of myself. I'm about to graduate from a non-target school, double majoring in mathematics and economics with 3.4 GPA. Due to working part-time by managing my parents' business, I wasn't able to obtain any internships. So I have no finance work experience whatsoever except for competing an investment banking competition at Vancouver, Canada, placed top 24 out of 250 teams. My long-term goal is work at a hedge focusing on value investing. And to get there I'm planning to attend Columbia Business School's Value Investing Program.
So my question is that if I want a career in value investing, is it worthwhile to get a job as investment banking analyst or should I strictly focus on value investing?
I would appreciate any advice or suggestion.
