Hey guys, just wanted to give you the heads up that there is a new block in the right column that shows who the "Most Active Monkeys" have been in the last 30 days measured by # of Bananas they have collected.
I thought this would be a fun way to see who has been contributing the most lately and is a good way to identify potential new Certified Users. Plus, it gives the new monkeys a ranking to fight over...we now have a block showing Total Bananas (Top WSO Users), Most Active Monkeys (Bananas in Last 30 Days), Silver Banana Leaders and Soiled Monkeys.

Dude, I'm done spending time and effort writing content for your web site for the benefit of your readers which dont even end up getting get posted or are being filtered through your moderators for whatever reason. I find it highly unlikely that moderators are reviewing every monkey's post on WSO, it doesn't seem very logical given the sheer volume of posts.
I've offered a lot of my time and advice on this forum and the fact that my posts are being filtered is bullshit. So peace out WSO.
I offered whatever benefit I could to the WSO community while I felt it was actually being appreciated.... in the end its the prospective monkeys that lose.
I agree with Marcus, and it's pretty damn hypocritical that a website promoting a concept known as "Monkey Sht," will filter anything with a semblance of cursing in it. In fact, I can't even write out the phrase "Monkey Sht" without gettting filtered.
Hey Marcus - I dont know why, but your comments seem to get queud in our spam filter more than most. It has actually improved a lot over the past week and is not queuing nearly as many posts (but it's still catching the spam).
I think it might have to do with the quote module causing an issue. So if I were to quote the user "everythingsucks" that tends to trigger the filter. I know it's not perfect and we are working toward a solution -- making it so users over a certain banana count are not subject to any filter.
Just want to let you know that I really do appreciate all of the contributions you have provided WSO and I also wanted to let you know that the comments you have been posting ARE getting approved, just not always in real time (since for some damn reason your stuff seems to trigger spam more frequently than most).

For what it's worth, nearly all of my posts are "filtered" too. Probably due to the complex, mind bending concepts I typically opine about. Oh well, live by the sword, die by the sword.

SHIT, I think derivstrading is correct! Hold your bragging rights for an hour or so - we'll get this fixed. It should be total banana points (which takes into account SBs, shits, etc...)
I find it a bit upsetting that I cannot use the name of an integral aspect of this site (monkey sh!t) without needing moderator approval...
I hate to see Marcus leave. I hope that's something that can be addressed. He's brought some good stuff to WSO and its members!
trust me, I have no problem with cursing...it's not as easy as creating a "white list" for users or allowing cursing.
Mollom is a 3rd party system that uses spam notification from around the web. Something happened to the algo in late Dec. that made it overly sensitive...we are trying to work with them because it stops 99.9% of the real spam which is a huge help to us. Anytime we turn it off, the forums and comments get bombarded with crap so it's not an option .
We will get it right, we just need some time...we are trying to make it so a user with a certain # of points (say 20) is not subject to the filter at all, since 99% of the spam comes from new users with no points.

hey guys, see my latest forum topic...certified users shoudl now not get filtered at all. My developer found a way to include them in the "white list"...as for users like everythingsucks & rebel...we will try to get a workaround for you guys asap (ie end of tomorrow).

That's partly my fault. He pays me to give him SBs on all his posts and I need the money for my drug addiction.
Sadly I am nearly out of bananas so I will be forced to kick my habit in the near future. Good news for the rest of you guys though!

Yea I got a ton of SBs over like a 15 day period. Combine that with the fact that my back is facing the wall at the office and I spend an inordinate amount of time on WSO. It's kind of depressing.
