New to WSO - Ole timer in Calif

Hello all!

I live in central California and have been involved in the development of strategies and trading for about 30 years. I have experience with stocks, futures and forex. I understand options, but never really focused on them. In todays world, most everything I do is automated.

Mine has not been a easy path. I had thought that if I could first develop a method, an approach to trading the rest would be a cake walk - WRONG. Once the method was develop, I had thought that deploying it in the real world would be simple - WRONG. Having finally solved the many issues that separated the theoretical results vs live, I thought the capital / deals would start - Wrong. I produced very strong audited results, surely now I could launch! - Wrong

I have made many mistakes in my life, but it would seem that one of the biggest seems to be how foolish I was about my assumptions. It would seem, the quality of the network is more important and I would even say location then ones ability to make money. I have spent years with sub-par people promising to deliver the world, all hype wonderful to the ears and imagination while devastating to your dreams, goals and checkbook.

The webmaster asked what I hop to get out of this.

I want capitalize on my experience and developments. I need the guidance to make that happen.
Being older and wiser I need to help people from making the same mistakes.

Hi Dick,

I am trying to get from point A to point B. Point A is that I have market experience and understand technology. I know most of the time what works and won't. I have developed successful strategies that have been verified. Point B is utilizing all of this to the benefit of those I work with and myself. A number of attempts at creating an entity have failed. Lots of symptoms but the problem was the wrong team.

Appreciate the help! DB

My network is more like a string between a couple of cans. In my last effort I contacted someone I know but had not spoken to in years. More of a junior VC type in Vancouver. He asked for a lot information which was provided, due diligence by the people he works with and connected me to a "trader" back east. I was told that everything was great and they were going to proceed.
