New WSO Design Changes

Dearest Primates, you may have noticed that we recently have been trying to make some design improvements on WSO, so wanted to list some of them that have been pushed live and some to expect in the near future to get all of your feedback (on what has been done and things we may not be thinking about). Most of these came out of insights from our user testing we do at least 1/month.

Design Changes in Last Month

  1. New Font - in order to make thinks consistent in design across PC and Mac users, we went away from the system default font and are now using Lato sitewide (a few weeks ago)

  2. New Forum Design - It's time to say goodbye to our beloved black title bar and bring the title in closer to the actual content that it's referencing. This seems like a cleaner and more standard design that should help guide visitors eyes to the proper place (ie the content) (done today)

  3. Default Monkey Image- now it's brand consistent

  4. Certified User star- now it will be slightly overlayed top of the user profile image and the image will be surrounded by a gold halo because basically our Certified Users are dieties on WSO and should be treated as such...

Design Changes Coming

  1. Clean up - clean up all the stuff we broke from the above, especially on comments (making consistent with new OP design)

  2. New Mega-Menu - will look the same collapsed but will give member many more options to jump to our most valuable resources (free and paid) on the site. Basically, the menu will be more like a mega sitemap when it's expanded with a much easier to read format

  3. Other Key Sections - After the forums, we will turn our attention to the Reports, Company Database, Events, Jobs, etc...STAY TUNED!

Of course, any comments, feedback (positive or negative) and/or bugs you see are more than welcome!

As always, thank you for your help and guidance,
Patrick
