Newb. How to send calendar invites?
I'm doing lots of networking this summer using my Gmail account and everyone is asking me to send calendar invites for calls. Anyone know if there's a way to do this through Gmail when they are using Outlook?
I've been sending invites from my Outlook account at work but would prefer to use one account going forward.
Thanks!
Just click on the calendar app on your google plus icon in the top right of your inbox (or wherever it is), and then once you're in the calendar, you click inside the calendar into a Timeslot and can plan an event, edit details, and then invite people. When you add names to the invite and click save, it will prompt you as to whether you want to send an invite, and you click yes.
You can put your phone number in the location field of the invite.
idaho thanks for the response. When I do that from my Gmail, however, I get a message saying the invitee cannot receive the invite. Do you know the reason for this?
I've googled around to no avail. No worries if it's not something you know off the top of your head.
Could you screenshot the screen or copy the text? I think you may be mixed up because sometimes it will say that their response won't show on the calendar because they don't use gmail.
e.g. if they accept, you may get an email notification, but when you click on the call on your calendar there won't be a check next to that person's name
That's a possibility, but I did have one analyst say they never received my invite. Google forums make it seem like it might be settings on their end. Either way, here is the screenshot:
They still get the invite but they don't get the calendar view (google calendar) since it's not a gmail account. They will still get the reminder through email as Google calendar will send that person an email reminder. My b if I kind of repeated stuff but wanted to help clarify better
I see. That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
Why don't you test this by sending invites from your Gmail account to your own Outlook account to make sure it's working, before sending out to networking contacts?
