NFL and College football season

what do you guys think is going to happen with the NFL and college ball? fans in stadiums, will we have a season at all? I for one really don’t want to go without atleast one game at Lucas oil this year

It's funny how little discussion there's been about the near total lack of sports activity going on for the past few months. ESPN's website has been reduced to posting home videos of kids doing basketball trick shots in their driveways. Unless there's been something I'm forgetting, you may have to look back well into the 19th century to find a time when there was less sports activity.

I suspect this isn't totally unrelated to the political unrest. Human beings are tribal, and one of the social roles that sports teams play is absorbing tribal energies into artificial channels. They're also just huge time and attention sinks. Now that they're gone, people are directing their attention and tribal impulses towards other things.

What’s the rationale there? Clemson already had 23 test positive. The season starts during the worst time of the year. There’s no way at all to create a bubble. I’d be shocked if there’s a full college football season.

There will be an NFL season, probably with fans, maybe limited, at the stadiums. Way too much money to be lost, it will happen in some sort or fashion.

There will also be college football although it might be delayed to the spring but I doubt it. Some schools run on college football, especially in the south. It will happen.

The virus is not deadly enough and people (even those in charge) will stop respecting the guidelines. Unless the New York/New Jersey situation (death/population) starts happening in Texas, Georgia, Florida and California you will see sports come back. If you see NYC outbreaks in Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, LA, SF, I bet the SEC/Big12/PAC take a second look at potentially delaying until spring.
