No Finance Internships (Engineering to IB using an MFIN)
I'm currently an engineering student in my 5th year, looking to break into IB using an MFIN. Since my engineering degree is in civil engineering, I'm looking to work in a group that covers infrastructure/industrials. I've got a solid GPA (just under 3.7) and 3 internships at reputable engineering consulting firms. Top Canadian university but is considered a non-target for finance. I'm worried that my lack of finance internships will hurt me. How can I compensate for not having that experience?
Additionally, should I apply to get an internship first and then try to go full time? Or apply directly to a full time position. Since my Master's program is only a year, technically I have to start networking before I even get in right?
networking and go for an internship prior to going to masters and then Full time after
