Hong Kong Full Time Return Rate?
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone has any insights on the return rate of the BBs in Hong Kong for their IBD summer analyst program, relative to one another.
In other words, which of the BBs have the highest return rate? which the lowest?
Thanks!
Bump...no one knows?
Depends on bank. But generally quite high, 70%+ for most BBs.
Bump... I'm interested in GS/MS/JPM specifically. Would really appreciate it if someone can shed some light on this.
bumping again..
The Blackstone Real Estate Asia Group in Hong Kong gave return offers to everyone last summer, (although one of the female interns slept with the group's analyst staffing associate all summer to get hers.) So that place has a good conversion rate if you're ready to do what you gotta do to get that full time return offer out of the the internship!
haha wow...Do you know when they send out interview invites? I applied back in early November, but haven't heard from them since.
Also, any idea on the return rate at GS/MS/JPM?
MS is low in the three. Heard was ~60%

About SA to FT in HK (Originally Posted: 11/22/2011)
Hi everyone here, I've been reading the forum for a long time, and now have something to ask.
I'm currently considering applying for Trading SA in HK, but do anyone know the conversion rate of SA to FT, for those top tier banks like GS, JPM, Citi in Hong Kong? I heard some rumors that the rate is quite low and brutal.
And BTW, what if you don't get the return offer for trading? Because market conditions are not good these days. Any chance to go through the FT recruiting? Or just have to find something else to do?

Asia: Intern -> FT offer numbers? (Originally Posted: 09/28/2007)
Just wondering if any of you guys know what the scene in the Asia Pacific region is with respect to the number of IBD summer interns taken in each year and the number of full time offers made. Since these offices are much smaller than those on Wall St., are the offer ratios much lower? Thanks.
depends.. MS, ML,GS tend to be low, anywhere from 40-60 but they have big classes.. >40.. other banks such as UBS or Lehman have smaller classes 70%
Bump
Depends where you're talking about.
In Australia:
SA classes are small, but hire to FT is very high.
In Singapore and HK:
SA classes slightly bigger, more banks active. FT offer rate not as high, but trending towards Aus.
Overall, most banks are now moving towards offering more SA's FT. That said, it's not like they take huge SA classes.
how long do the bank take to get back to you regarding the full time offer? i worked in a Singapore BB ad its been 11 weeks since the internship program ended and they haven got back to any of the interns regarding whether we are being offered a full time contract.
and the thing is 3 weeks back they mentioned that they will be calling within a couple of days regarding offers... but that was 3 weeks ago.. they still have not called anyone...
i feel they r being very unprofessional about this. whats the point of delaying it for so long? After all the training during the 10 weeks and how they repeatedly mentioned being efficient , on the ball etc... it makes me feel that they have alot to learn about efficiency as well as making people feel valued.
"making people feel valued?" Come one dude - you were a Summer Analyst - how valuable are you? Quite whining on the boards and go interview with other banks if you're tired of waiting around. Wah Wah.
well the last i heard summer internships are the pipeline for banks graduate recruitment for the following year... which makes us quite valuable... and countless times the bank has told us interns that we r the future

If they value you, you would have felt valued. Come on dude! 3 weeks, for someone they've worked with. Maybe you should check with your SA friends.
like i said i've check with my other SA friends and none of them have received a call from them... u got yr offer in 3 weeks whereas here its been 11 weeks and still no news and all they have been telling us that they r calling soon for the past 1 month and still no news
Just ring HR and ask what the deal is.

Just wondering if you know the return rate for nomura IBD in HK now? I know it was low in the past (say like 2013 or 2014), but what is it now? Thanks.
