Non Degree studies (post undergrad), beneficial?
Hey all,
I wanted to get some feedback on non-degree studies.
My undergrad was mech engineering from a non target state school (graduated with 3.4 overall, 3.58 core), right now i'm coming on a year of full time work as an engineer and i also interned for almost 4 yrs, part time and full time during summers
Anyways, right now i'm taking non-degree courses (finance related) which can be used towards an MBA at a school in top 50 U.S. MBA Programs (according to Forbes) (think more in the 40th range, like a UCONN)
anyways, will a gmat score of 680+ combined with a 3.8-4.0 in two non degree courses (economic markets and financial acct and reporting) in addition to my undergrad GPA of 3.4 with 1-2 yrs of work experience make me a decent candidate for the NYU and Columbia full time MBA programs?
Thank you.
I'm busting ass trying to make this happen, any words of advice are greatly appreciated!
uconn? or fordham? i went to uconn undergrad :P i thought of doing the same but opted for the finance certificate through NYU.. your gpa doesnt sound to obad but i guess it depends where that gmat falls -- a 700 or 710 will serve you much better
Shorttheworld, can you expand a little further on the NYU finance cert your speaking of?
