non-relevant long-term job experience in resume?

I was wondering if anyone here thinks that putting a 9 yr old career in my resume is a no no for any application. The job was completely unrelated to finance and only used it to pay bills and save money to go back to school. I've been putting them in resumes with only a dedicated line. Any thoughts? Thanks.
