Non-Target Engineer Resume Help

Hey all gearing up for SA recruiting in Jan/Feb was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on my resume. Would definitely appreciate any help.

Thanks for your help!

Also wondering if anyone has any recruiting advice in terms of how to sell myself as a candidate. I definitely have a quant background but I am not sure if I want to be pigeon-holed as a quant. Very social and outgoing as well so try and look past the engineer stereotype.

Best Response

This is an impressive resume. As is, you'll probably get responses from a number of firms. If you are interested in trading at a major NY bank, please PM me. This is the kind of resume us state school kids are looking for, though we will want to see you build up some interviewing skill so we can ensure you prove an embarassment to our H/Y/P counterparts. Naturally trading is looking for kids who are not just smart and social but also tough and aggressive.

Did you do any sports in HS or college?

Thanks guys, I played varsity soccer in high school but haven't continued on in college outside of pick-up games of football and soccer here and there.

As a bit of an aside I've really been thinking about studying abroad and unfortunately with how everything shook out I'd probably have to go this Spring. Is it possible to get a study abroad super day coming from a non target? I know my chances are a lot lower as is and didn't know if it would be nearly impossible to get involved in accelerated recruiting.
