None of my college friends are going to be on Wall Street...advice?
Background: current senior about to be working in S&T in NYC at a bb next year
My friend group in college is about 15 people (most seniors like me), but essentially all of them are NOT working in finance and will be off to med school/engineering jobs in different cities after graduation.
On the other hand, the other ~20 seniors in my school who will be working on Wall Street (these guys are all in the same friend group)...let's just say I'm not fond of them nor are they fond of me. So basically, I don't want to make any efforts to befriend them next year since pretty much all of them are huge dicks.
Any advice?
- The incoming analyst class in S&T division at my bank is not big at all, so I'm limited there as well

I get your problem. I'll volunteer to take your spot and you can join your friends in med school/engineering. Isn't life about people at the end of the day anyways?
Might as well start trying to lateral to become a quant now. The EQ is clearly lacking.

Meet new people? It's not that hard. Lots of young expats in New York that are trying to meet people.
20MM people in this town. Maybe there could be a few you could hang out with?

OP's post is kind of eye-opening in terms of the typical mindset that exists with recent college grads, only wanting to stick with friends they knew. On one hand it is convenient but I find that very few are open to venturing out of their comfort zone for new friends. Maybe it is out of fear that others your age who are recent college grads will not be as open to making new friends.
Like no push or any need or want exists to expand your social circle after college.
