NorthMarq Capital post interview update

Well... was informed I didn't get the job due to lack of experience. Not sure what's going on or who told corporate America having 2 years of full time experience is a prerequisite to an entry level role but someone needs to fucking figure it out. Might show up to the office Monday with a resume in hand, idk.

On a different note, if anyone in the Southeast has any leads for a full time role they know of LMK... thanks

Training is expensive and if you can get someone who was already trained for the same amount of money, a company would be stupid not to take it.

That is why most colleges require an internship. 10 weeks over the summer isn't the most amazing experience, but it makes companies feel better about hiring new grads.

If they call it "entry level" they don't have to pay you as much.  Any time you see an "entry level" job position with an experience requirement, run the other way.  That shop isn't going to treat you well, help with professional development, or pay you what you're worth.

What experience do you have exactly?

edit - sorry, misread, thought you were saying you had 2 years experience. But anyways what experience do you have? If you don't have relevant internships then it is going to be a tough shop to start in. I had zero CRE experience (fresh grad) and had an in person interview and they passed, but I still ended up in a similar or possibly "better" shop. Just got to keep grinding.

Previous internship at a construction company doing development and bidding/ assess project costs, more recently been working with a Cap markets brokerage team underwriting old deals as case studies and shadowing MD and analyst
