Not having relevant banking experience for graduate schemes
So in my 3rd year of university I have an industrial placement year. If I get a placement in a different sector, as I want to explore my options, but it goes from Sept21-Sept22 then I can't get a summer internship in my 3rd year. I'm afraid that I won't have the relevant experience to breaking in. Are there anyways to overcome this if this does occur to me?
I am not fully aware of current "breaking in " requirements, but I have met people in graduate programs in banks who never ever had any previous banking experience. Were these placements completely random then? Their school, their assessment scores and personality were far more relevant to these programs, from what I was told.
