Nothing from HR after confirming offer, should I start looking elsewhere?

Hi WSO!

I'm a Junior at a target school (HYPW) who got an offer with a reputable MM firm on the West Coast (15-50 employees). I interviewed with them, immediately signed the offer letter, and am waiting to confirm start dates, go through screenings, get assignments, and everything else but have not heard back from anyone in HR for almost a month now even after checking in.

It's approaching the end of recruiting season (if it has not already ended) , and I feel like if there is any doubt in my mind I should start looking elsewhere now. I do not want to seem like a pain in the ass or impatient, but I also want to know if I should start reaching out to boutique offices (probably only ones recruiting now). What should I do? It would be pretty awful to wait too long and not have an internship for this summer.

I have not, the person in charge of the recruiting process was a senior analyst with the firm.

I had hesitations with reaching out to people outside of HR, primarily that I did not want to seem pushy and seem like I am trying to circumvent HR because it is a fairly small office. It could be anything from they have more important stuff to do (although not touching base with me for 1 month seems odd) to them dropping me (knock on wood that this is not the case) which is why I'm wondering if I should start hedging now.

Should I reach out to HR one more time before reaching out to people outside of HR? Or should I just directly call HR/others at the firm - or is this too confrontational? I'm not sure how long 1 month is in "high finance", and I do not want to seem annoying.

I suppose it's only March and that's true, but BB recruiting ended a long time ago, along with pretty much everything else. My only options moving forward would be regional IB/PWM and even those interview slots are closing up.

What would I even say to my contacts if HR does not respond? "I have not gotten a response from X and just wanted to make sure everything is OK"?

"Hi xxx,

Hope you are doing well. Really excited for the summer and just wanted to check in with you. HR hasn't informed me about the start date and onboarding processes yet, but if you have any details, it'd be great to know. As you may know, I go to school in the east coast, so just wanted to get some visibility to plan for housing and summer plans.

Thanks, Jranom104"
