Number of slacks/shirts in your wardrobe?

So I'm in the midst of upgrading my wardrobe, how many shirts and slacks should I have in my arsenal? Right now I have 5 pants and 5 shirts that I rotate, but is that enough? I'm leaning towards buying a few more pairs of both just so I have a bigger lineup. Thoughts?

I'd guess I have about 15 shirts and 10-12 pants. I need to buy a few new shirts as 2 or 3 of them are really for backup while I'm waiting to for my dry cleaning. I'm probably a little heavy on pants, but I found some awesome deals a few months ago so I bought a bunch.

To me, ideal would be 15-20 shirts and 8-10 pants.

I have like 15-20 button downs that i rotate, and literally 3 pairs of polo slacks that i wear. Pants dont get dirty, unless you shit your pants..

So that's what I've been doing wrong?!?

Counted recently after shopping: 43 and bunch of sport shirts. I have 10 cuffed shirts and use them regularly because I collect cufflinks and like to wear them. They also look more classy than regular cuff and I would totally recommend them. All my VPs and MDs wear them. Are other monkeys' shirts initialed at the cuff? I was thinking about doing it. What do you guys think about putting your initials on the cuffs?

About a dozen...wear each one at least twice before washing/pressing them.

Only counting ones that fit and are appropriate to wear to work, I probably have between 20-25.

You can use that as a talking point when networking at the fitness club's smoothie bar.

Looks like you haven't seen my update slim..... Don't worry I won't hold your condescending words against you when you're asking me for a job!!

Yeah, that was weeks ago before I discovered the power of networking at the gym. While you were cowering behind your keyboard, attempting to network by sending out emails that no one is even going to open, I was out there putting it all on the line. Walking directly up to the MD and flexing on him until he capitulated by offering me a job. That's the difference between winners and losers. I'll be having bottle service tonight, while you're guzzling your choice of natty or beast. I'll be bedding a model, while you're wasting away another night doing the five finger knuckle shuffle. I could go on and on but you get the idea. BTW I'm still looking for a secretary if your interested. We need to work on that attitude of yours though.

...........YES! How many shades of grey do you have, dawg? Pink?

Actually, you should wear each shirt, in order, twice, and obtain ultimate utility from them.120 days without washing them.

btw you can never have too many polos. 25 polos? Step your game up, dawg, it's time to get 25 Brook Brothers polos.

Disclaimer: I'm drunk, dawg.

I have several brooks brothers polo's but i find them a little trashy to be honest. As a result they are seldom worn. Most of them are j press, but I do have a few Duchamp's that I wear from time to time.

So I realized yesterday I have a ridiculous amount of shirts that have accumulated over the past 3 years. I counted 105- about 60 were dress shirts and the rest business casual. I probably have about 25 polo's that I rotate through the summer. Is this an excessive amount to have?

w.t.f.

SirTrades just dropped a bomb. On a serious note I think I have 15 dress shirts and 10 polos or so. Who wears polos outside of work or golf? Is this middle school?

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..

I own about 20 shirts and, unfortunately, 30 polos. I rarely wear polos anymore... just collected them when I thought they were cool during the college years. Now I rather just wear a t-shirt or a casual shirt.

Those lacoste polos aren't looking so good anymore with my bulging belly.

Now I started hording socks. Purchased a dozen Viccel socks... great price for the quality. I wish I wasn't into attire but it's always something.

Starting to feel the same about polo's myself.... I'm a sock guy too. I have a drawer full of pantherella's. I haven't heard of Viccel, I'll have to check them out!

I have at least 50 pairs of shoes

Oh man don't go too hard on yourself one can never have enough shirts... though I don't anything too long if I am not wearing it why not let someone (the needy) wear it but I do buy 4-5 every month so I think it is perfectly normal to have 120 or even 365 as long as you get to use them all... hope I make sense to you :)
