NYC Christmas dinner for team at work
Greetings,
I'm a new analyst and I'm tasked with the immensly powerful role of planning the Christmas dinner. Any suggestions out there for good places in NYC to take junior and senior people to? (There may be about 10-20 people).
Thanks in advance
Limitless budget, I hope?
not sure, guessing $20-$50+ a head sounds about right. (I don't want Chiptole, but not some candelight with my boss either).
I would get more guidance on the budget you are working with and then come back to the drawing board. You can't do much with $20-$50/person...
Without worry about the budget now, what are some good places? I can look up the budget afterwards. Just want to see what's out there (aka I'm new to NYC).
$50 for Xmas dinner in NYC isn't going to go very far. Booze alone will run you $50+ per person.
It's in midtown and pretty cheap. Should be in your range and the food I had there at lunch was good.
let's throw away the budget I had orginally. any locations suggestions would be much appreciated. looking for good food, good places, good environments, etc.
thanks for the input so far
I'm looking into the following: Mark Joseph Steakhouse Buon Amici Del Monico's Harry's
any others?
bennigans coopers uno's benihana chili's....i want my baby back baby back
New question: Where would you like to go if someone (your boss) expensed dinner for you? I'm looking anywhere south of midtown/times sq.
Dorsia. I hear it's hard to get a table though.
I had a reservation at Dorsia, but had to cancel it. I had return some video tapes.
anything else?

Dos Caminos - couple in the city, nice place and prices not too bad, big place
Here is the one on park. http://www.brguestrestaurants.com/restaurants/dos_caminos_park/index.php
Just goto the steakhouse thread and pick one of them. Bankers love steakhouses, plus they always have good wine lists.
This is assuming you want a large sit down dinner. If you don't want sit down, look at like Buddakan (they do a good buffet for large groups), or any nice restaurant you have been in the city.
Best bet, go on opentable.com and look through menus, descriptions and locations of restaurants.
I would suggest someplace that is conservative and classy.. while TAO may be an awesome place I don't know if I would suggest taking my boss there (although it could be an interesting gamble) go for a nice steakhouse or a nice french place.
